At the HSLG AGM 2009, we announced a new bursary award for HSLG members.  The bursary is the Bernard Barrett Bursary, named after former and long-time chair of HSLG, Bernard Barrett.

It is intended that this bursary will be awarded annually, to enable HSLG members to attend and participate in Irish or international conferences.   Attendance and participation at national and international healthcare library/information conferences and events are an important means by which information regarding latest trends and developments in healthcare librarianship may be shared.

 Information and Library Manager Part time

The Irish Hospice Foundation is seeking an information specialist to manage information and library functions of the organisation. The successful candidate will provide an information resource to the policy, advocacy, development, research, communication, fundraising and education functions of the IHF.  A detailed job description is available on www.hospice-foundation.ie.  Suitable applicants will have experience of information management and will be qualified in library studies or a related field.  Applications to be received no later than 5pm on Wednesday 5th August 2009.

The Continuing Professional Development Working Group (CPDWG), part of the HSLG are conducting a CPD survey and would like to hear your views on how we can meet your CPD requirements for the future.   We would appreciate if you could take a few moments to fill out this survey – it should only take approximately 5 minutes to complete. The CPDWG and the HSLG value all input and feedback and the results of this survey will inform the future Training Programme of the CPDWG.
